The East Midlands regional group for the Council for British Archaeology will be holding a day conference and AGM on Saturday 29th March 2014 at Samworth Centre at St Mary’s, 8 Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE13 1AE. It is due to start at 10.00 and conclude at 16.30. The programme for the day includes talks on:

  • Portable Antiquities Scheme – Wendy Scott
  • The Conservation of the Must Farm Bronze Age Boats – Emma Turvey
  • Archaeology and the Media – speaker TBA
  • New applications for GIS (Geographical Information Systems) – Dr Mark Gillings
  • CBA Placements – James Spry and James Early discuss their experiences of training for the year, including Operation Nightingale and outreach
  • The world of archaeological archives – Helen Parslow
